PUBLIC HEARING
INCORPORATED VILLAGE OF LAKE SUCCESS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT a public hearing will be held by
the Board of Appeals, Incorporated Village of Lake Success, NY in the Board
Room of the Village of Lake Success, 318 Lakeville Road, on Thursday, May
23,
2024 at 7:30 P.M. to consider the following application for a
variance from the village zoning code.
Case No.20240012 a request
submitted by the owner Daniel Perla, 104 Windsor Gate, Lake Success, NY
11020, also designated as Section 2, Block 280-2, Lot 8 for an appeal to
install a Gate/Fence in the front yard, not
permitted, pursuant to
Section 105-187 of the Code of the Village of Lake Success.
The
application and accompanying exhibits are on file in the office of the
Village Clerk and may be inspected by interested parties during business
hours. At the time and place of the public hearing, all persons will be
given an opportunity to be heard. Those persons planning to attend any
meeting of the Board of Appeals of the Village of Lake Success and who
require listening devices and/or a sign language translator are requested to
notify the Village Clerk no less than 48 hours prior to the meeting.

Please be advised that National Grid will be
working for the next 2 weeks starting today, Tuesday, May 14, 2024
installing new gas mains on Meadow Woods Road in between Lakeville Road and
Old Field Lane and go approximately 100 feet onto Elm Lane as well.
Please avoid this area if possible in an effort to reduce traffic and
congestion.

Park Update
The playground is open for use until the installation of the new piece in
early June.
The Har-Tru tennis courts 5, 6, 7, 8 and red clay tennis
courts 1 and 2 are now open. Red clay courts 3 and 4 are closed indefinitely
until the tennis court project is completed.
Just a reminder that a
Park membership is required to use the courts and to be able to make a
reservation on the CourtReserve App.

Welcome to the 2024 park
season!
Park membership is required for the use of the pool, tennis
and pickleball courts. Guest fees will continue to apply for use of the
courts and are payable at the pool gate.
The pool will open Saturday,
May 25.
There are important updates to the pool rules which include
the following.
• Starting this year, all children under the age of 14
who wish to swim in the deep area of the pool MUST be tested by a lifeguard
or supervisor before being allowed in.
• Approved flotation device
use by children is allowed in the shallow end of the pool but only with
direct in water adult supervision.
• Children requiring diapers must
wear swim diapers AND rubber pull-overs.

roaming the neighborhood.
Here is some useful information if you come in contact with one.

We have noticed an increase in dog waste left behind on our residential property, Village right of way and our Park. This is in violation of the Village Code.
Keeping your dog on leash at all times when on walks and cleaning up after our pets is not only a matter of courtesy, but a requirement in our community. Dog waste is a threat to the health of our children, attracts pests, contaminates our drinking water, and transmits disease.
Please leash, curb, and clean up after your dog.
Thank you for your cooperation and assistance in keeping our community clean and enjoyable for everyone.
Need to know.... 2023 Legislators & Representatives
Residents of the Village have suffered sewer backups into their
homes due to some residents throwing items such as Grease, Paper Towels,
Disposable Diapers and Wipes, and Feminine products down their toilets and
drains.
With just a little bit of help from ALL OF YOU, the Village's
sewer lines will operate more effectively and less disruption in service
will occur if we all follow these tips below.
Here are a few steps
you can take to help prevent this problem:
· Do not put dairy
products, fats, oil, grease or greasy foods down the garbage disposal or
drain.
· Freeze small amounts of fats, oils and grease in a lidded
container and dispose in a trash receptacle.
· Mix small amounts of
cooking oil with an absorbent material such as cat litter or coffee grounds,
place it in a lidded container and dispose of it in a trash receptacle
·
Wipe additional grease from pots, pans and plates with a paper towel before
placing them in the sink or dishwasher.
DO NOT dispose of any of the
following in your sinks (Bathroom and Kitchen) or toilets:
*GREASE
*PAPER TOWELS
*DISPOSABLE AND CLOTH DIAPERS
*FEMININE
PAPER PRODUCTS
*DISPOSABLE WIPES

FITNESS CENTER HOURS OF OPERATION
MONDAY: 7 AM - 7 PM
TUESDAY - SUNDAY: 6:30 AM - 8:00 PM
Social Activities Center is open
Hours of operation will be 9:00AM- 4:30PM Tuesday
through Sunday.
A sign in sheet for residents and guests (3 guest
maximum) will be required. No food or beverages will be allowed.
Seating will be first come first serve, however we ask everyone to be
courteous of their time so that all may enjoy the room. You must enter and
exit from the double doors on the North side of the building, golf course
side only.
Face masks for those who are vaccinated are no longer
required. Face masks, and social distancing rules continue to be required
for any person who is not vaccinated.
We appreciate your cooperation

Vehicle thefts have risen in and around our
village
These incidents have all involved unlocked vehicles in which the
keys were left inside. I cannot stress enough the importance of locking your
vehicles and removing your keys.
The police department has taken measures to
address this problem, but your cooperation is needed to help keep your
property and our community safe.
